Balding around the paws.
Hi, i recently noticed that my 11 month old staffy seems to have some bald patches around the paws (all four of them) especially in between the ridges. Does anyone know whats the cause of this. He seems to be licking or biting his paws lately and that could have led to the loss of fur around the paw region. Pls advise if anyone experienced this- thanks

Re: Balding around the paws.
never had it with lemmy but if he is licking and nibbling his toes maybe there is something wrong i would have it checked by the vet because baldness doesnt just happen there could be a problem it could be something silly that he has picked up in the grass out on a walk but best safe than sorry i supose

Could be a bacteria build up. I think a trip to the vets just to be sure.

Our old staff had this problem but it was only the one back foot. We took him to the vet and it turned out it was a fungal infection and we were given a medicated scrub to treat him with a couple of times a day I think it was. It cleared up really fast I remember. hth x

Re: Balding around the paws.
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks all for your inputs, they were really useful. Just to update, Bruno's problem has improved tremendously. The areas mentioned are slowly returning back to normal and we've also noticed that he smells alot better now. What I did was to stop the kibble that we had put him on recently and reverted back to the one that he had all along. I guess he was allergic to something in the food which led the problem. Alls well and good now. Thanks all.
