Hi all.
Just had my dog Floyd at vet. He is 4month and 3 weeks old.

He weighed 12.9KG at vet and she seemed to think this was a bit heavy at his age, he had put 3.6KG on since his last visit 4 weeks ago.

I personally dont think he looks overweight hence this post. Any thoughts??

He is on raw food diet.

Many thanks

Hi & welcome!

Well, although I don't like to disagree with vets (I'm not one, so I bow to their superior knowledge), he looks perfectly fine to me! He looks quite a large pup anyway? Better to have a small amount of extra weight on a fast growing pup than not enough! Time enough to trim him down when he gets to about 9 months or so.

What vets also don't always realise is that raw fed puppies tend to put on sudden, huge growth spurts, much more so (in my experience) than kibble fed. If he's on the 'thin' side he'll have no reserves.
