Harness
Hi,
After two weeks of successful walking,Nero has suddenly decided he does not like having a harness on, do I persevere or do I go back to a collar.

Re: Harness
I would persevere.
You could try just putting it on indoors, give a treat & then taking it straight off again.
Is there anything you can think of that's put him off?

Re: Harness
Okay, so for a while just pick it up & hold it. Wait for him to calm down & then put it down again.
Do that a few times, and then try putting it on him when he's calm.

Re: Harness
I wonder if it isn’t a case of him not liking the harness but he’s getting excited about going out
Nifty went through a phase of trying to nibble harness and lead but she was just so happy about going out.
In any case, very good advice from gilly.
Do let us know if it helps but bear in mind that it could also be a phase he’s going through

Re: Harness
Luna went through a week like that after the first time we let her off the lead. It’s like she decided that she was a big girl now and didn’t need the harness
I think a collar will probably just annoy Nero more, he’ll notice it way more when he pulls etc so I’d stick with the harness anyway.

Re: Harness
I'm also looking for a harness.
Does anyone have any other recommendations? Comfort, durability, flexibility (I may wish to attach a shopping cart).
My staffy is a bit of a puller when on a lead and collar, unless he can have the handle in his mouth, in which case, he walks normally. This is fine but he gets too excited around other dogs when off the lead, so I want something with a handle i can restrain him with if he gets a bit too playful.
What are the Julius harnesses like? Or even the Fenrir?
Personally, I think some of the owners are d*&*s as some harnesses seem to be status symbols, which kind of puts me off my two suggestions.
Also, I want a harness with metal clips, not plastic.
Thoughts please.
