slip collar, harness, head harness? Confused!
What would you chaps advise for a rescue staffie in way of walking gear?
I believe the rescue centre had some kind of harness + slip lead combo, so had two leads to hold (if that makes sense?). I understand this is for control, but for my day to day walks and training, what would be best for me?
Staffie is 4 years old, doesn't pull too much unless distracted by other dogs. He doesn't walk to heel, so this is something I want to work on.
What kind of lead / harness would be best for training an adult rescue staffie?
Thanks all!

I was given a harness and chain lead! by dogs trust when I rescued Ledger but I quickly changed to walking him on a collar and have the ezy dog one as its hard wearing and nicely padded and have a police style lead (cheap on eBay and great quality) as its 2m long but there are various loops clips and I tend to walk at a 1m length
He does also have an ezy dog harness but that is now just used when we go running and I have a Julius K9 harness when I want close control (traveling on the train/into city centers) as I can attach the lead to the harness and collar but the harness also has a handle

Why won't you try him on both collar and harness and see what works for both it you cause every dog is different. I would get the padded once so it won't rub his skin

Hehe so far we only do half hour journeys and I keep him occupied with a kong and treats
Julius K9 also do a wide collar with a handle (spotted them on police dogs and went searching online) we have one for flyball as I have a good grip on him and he can start to pull a bit without choking him

I prefer a harness, I find they get red eyes on a collar plus I find you have more control if they pull to chase a squirrel
