Saxon's New Harness
Well, we're onto our 3rd or 4th harness with Saxon. We had a Yuppy Puppy that Saxon ate. Then we got the Lupine step in harness that matches Saxon's collar and leash, but it did nothing to curb his pulling. So I got an Easy Walk harness when I started working at Planet Dog. It worked really well to prevent his pulling, but it cut into his chest:
So I exchanged it for the Sporn Halter:
It's working really well so far and it has padded straps to keep it from rubbing. Has anyone ever heard of this harness? Is it any good?

That looks like a good one. Lemmy is a handsome model!! Planet dog is going to be getting in some really great car harnesses by a company called Kurgo and I'm going to get one when they come in. The only problem is that they don't really help with the pulling.

Don't know of anybody that uses one but the Sporn Halter does look intresting.

Re: Saxon's New Harness
It was the last no pull option that we sell other than the gentle leader (which I don't want to use because people always think it's a muzzle). It's working pretty well so far and it doesn't seem to bother Saxon in the least. It's really funny when he tries to back out of it. I'll have to try to get a picture, I can't really describe it.

Have you tried a leather harness? They don't rub at all and are very strong and durable. You can get a plain one if you don't like the brass and chrome all over them. Any decent saddlers should make it custom for you.

Re: Saxon's New Harness
Thanks for the suggestion, I do love the look of leather harnesses, especially on Staffords. However, as a vegetarian (technically a pesce-vegetarian because I still occasionally eat fish), I don't buy leather products.

I had to change Violets harness due to it rubbing and causing marks on her too. At the moment, she's only got a cheap webbing harness as she outgrows things so quickly, but once she settles in size I think a decent harness is something that's definitely worth investing in.

Winston walks lovely in his sporn harness. When he trots along it is quite loose but if he pulls it tightens. I know what you mean about when they go backwards in it.. it sort of pulls over neck and head........

Harness
We have just bought Rocky a new harness, the Julius K9 IDC. This looks really smart. It may cost a bit more than some other harnesses but it was worth the extra spend. He used to scratch a lot whilst out for walks but now this has stopped. The strap goes under his belly rather than under the arms thus not causing iritation. Rockys gait seems more natural now too. Would highly recommend this one.
