Advice please
I have a six year old male staffy and a 7monrh bitch. Boycee is getting very amorous with Mia so he is staying with my son for a week. I’m unsure if Mia is actually in season as there have been no real signs. And I have never had a bitch before. Any advice welcome

Re: Advice please
Hi & welcome.
Well.
She may well be coming towards her first season (anything from 5 to 12 months), and you're right to separate them. But have you thought about the future?
This will happen every 6 months,,have you thought of that?
I'm not steering you towards neutering (I don't approve of early neutering) but just warning you of what's to come.
Please realise that one week away is NOT enough! A bitch's season lasts approx. 3 weeks & the most problematical time is the last 10 days of that. Your bitch pup must be kept away from any males from the first signs (restlessness, swelling of vulva, discharge etc) until at least 3 weeks later!
If you want any advice/help please do ask!

Re: Advice please
Hi from me & Katy It does sound like she could be coming into season. The 1st 2 weeks she won't be interested or receptive to him but in the latter stages she will (putting it bluntly) turn into a complete tart! Just keep them totally apart & you should be ok
