Roundworms despite using Advocate?
Today I discovered something that looked like roundworms in my dogs feces (looked like spaghetti, about 3 inches long). She had her last deworming in January when I adopted her from the shelter, and my vet said she wouldn't need another one for six months. I also apply Advocate to the back of her neck every month, and that is meant to protect against roundworms as well.
Could it still be worms? She is a bit of a scavenger and eats strange things sometimes... Naturally I will take her to the vet to make sure, but I'd be interested to hear your experiences - have your dog ever caught worms despite you using a regular worm and flea treatment?

Never had a problem in that area. I think a vet visit to be safe is the best option.

generally you would be best with a tablet form as liquid at the back of the neck for worms wont be as effective as the worms live in the intestines.

also best to give your dog worming tablets every 3 months always get the dog weighed first so you can determine what size the dog will need.
