poorly pup
hey everyone, not sure if im worrying over nothing but the last couple of days howie doesnt seem himself he just wants to sleep and be in his cage or sleep on my lap. i manged to get him out for a little walk last night and once we got in he just layed down (very unlike him). i went to take him for his morning walk this morning but had to leave it as he wasnt coming out of his cage and didnt want to push him. i left the door open but he just stayed in and normally hes up at 6.45 waiting to go out. but he isnt off his food, he still scoffs that down.

Re: poorly pup
If he's eating that's a good sign. Is he drinking too? Is his 'output' normal? If all three things are OK then I'd keep an eye on him for a day or two then take him to the vet if he hasn't improved. If one or more of the above isn't happening then I'd make an appointment now, to be sure. He could have a temperature or an infection.

Re: poorly pup
Eating and drinking seems fine but his output is down and he won't do anything unless he's made to

The eating and drinking are good signs. He may just be a little tired. Suki will have a day or two like that every so often as well. If it keeps up though I'd visit the vet

Re: poorly pup
how old is he? they go through growth spurts and that can also make them tired, I found with Ziggy, he would have days where he slept more than others for no apparent reason, if its hot then that can make them lethargic as well. I would just keep an eye on it and if he's not back to normal in a few days, maybe a visit to the vet, even just for your own peace of mind

Re: poorly pup
hes 13 weeks, and it looks like i may have been worrying over nothing. he seems back to his usual self. went for a walk this morning and seemed full of energy. so maybe he was zonked out from a growth spurt or something.
thanks for all the replies.
