Update on Coopers Raw Feeding
Just a quick update to let everyone know how Cooper is getting on with his RAW feeding.
He is only eating the chicken mince and nothing else from that side of things but he is loving the Natures Menu tinned food which is still giving him everything he needs.
It would of been ideal for him to stick on the frozen stuff but I guess all dogs are different, I know the tinned food may not be as perfect as the frozen food but having read through the Natures Menu website is still excellent food for him.
He doesn't seem to want the bones I have given him at all so I'm not sure what to do on that side of things, I guess it will just have to be something from the pet shop as that's all he will seem to eat.
Not the perfect scenario however he is still on the Natures Menu food which is the best I could have asked for and I know he's still getting the vitamins etc that he needs to be a very healthy dog.

Sounds like you're on top of the food thing there. No idea why he won't try the bones though, maybe he just doesn't like really crunchy things

I will keep at it with the bones, at least I have his main food sorted.

Re: Update on Coopers Raw Feeding
Some dogs are just a bit fussy and he might just be a little unsure of the raw food if he was dry fed before
We thought any dog would scoff anything to do with raw meat but actually Bane is quite fussy! Sometimes he won't eat his kidney, liver, duck wings or fish when other times he goes nuts for them!
Have you tried feeding frozen and defrosted?

I normally defrost everything. I did mix some mince in with his tinned food and he ate it.

Re: Update on Coopers Raw Feeding
Try feeding some of the other meats frozen. One of the dogs on here used to only eat certain meats frozen
I'm not fully sure on what the natures menu tinned meat is made of/has in it just watch out with feeding raw and non raw together. Raw meat digests a lot quicker which is why they can eat it and not get ill where as biscuits etc digest a lot slower. So feeding together keeps the raw meat in the stomach longer and can possibly cause a bit of upset.

Re: Update on Coopers Raw Feeding
Hi Emma
The Natures Menu tinned is more or less the same with all the veg put in etc and slowly steamed.
Having said that I gave him some raw mince and nuggets last night and he wolfed it down. Going to try him on the same tonight.
The medication he is on for his cloggy nose is giving him awful wind!!!!!

Hi
Good news!!! Cooper has decided that he does like the RAW food after all and is loving it. I think he was just in a huff with me for getting him neutered
I'm still struggling to get him to realise that the bones are good for him but I will keep persisting with it.

Aw glad he is enjoying it Maybe he was just a bit off because of the neutering!
Bones can be tough! Bane is very lazy and often gives up or sits and looks at you as if you can magic it into his tummy with out him having to chew at it for ages

Re: Update on Coopers Raw Feeding
I sometimes mix a bit of wet food with peppas raw and that's fine just don't mix dry with raw.
