Raw feeding

Hi, this is a question for those who feed raw. Does your dog eat every day on a regular basis or do they vary each day on how much they eat? i have changed Mia to raw feeding and have noticed a difference in her eating patterns. Some days she doesn`t seem that bothered and will only eat a bit while other days she eats everything in her bowl. Is this normal?

2-3% of bodyweight in raw food per day.

Some dogs will eat everything you put in front of them & will bloat themselves - then they won't eat as much next day. Some will regulate themselves & only eat until they aren't hungry.

I'd say that you're perhaps putting a bit too much in her bowl? How many meals does she have?

She has 2 meals a day and weighs 20kg. If my maths are correct (lol) she should be on about 500g per day.

You could try lowering the amount to about 400 gms just to see if that helps, but if she's healthy & has a nice, slim waistline then I wouldn't worry too much. If she doesn't want it, she doesn't want it - she won't starve herself.

I feed once a day, but i don't stick to the same weight each day.

For example one day they may get 1.5kg the next day 300g, this means i can give a wide range of foods plus they never leave anything and it keeps it interesting for them!

And Harvey & Chance look pretty good on it!

I feed 100g per 10kg.

So my girls get 180 and 190g twice day and my boy gets 210g twice a day

Thank you for the calculation method that is much easier for me to work out...maths is not my strong suit and the 2-3% I admit I needed a calculator for yet my silly brain can work with the 10%
