Feeding
Just wondering if there was any way to get a pup to stop eating so fast, as soon as his bowl and food comes out, its away in literally 10 seconds, or is this normal staffy pup behaviour? He's 9 weeks if that makes any difference! Thanks for any help!

Re: Feeding
Some do, some don't!
If he's really eating too fast you could try giving his meal in 2 or 3 portions, leaving 5 minutes between each. Or you can buy special food bowls that are supposed to stop a dog from bolting their food. I've not tried them myself, but others on here have.

Re: Feeding
Dempsey's a horror for it! I put down 400 grams of meat & it's gone in about 15 seconds!
If he isn't suffereing any ill effects I wouldn't worry too much. Make sure he rests a little after eating though. If you can. Chance'd be a fine thing!

Re: Feeding
No after he eat's it he just sit's and looks at you for more lol! After eating he came and sat on my lap and fell asleep haha! We're feeding him on the wet food tray type thing's (don't know if that'll make sense lol) and gave him 1 and a half tray's, over 3 feeds, so half a tray a sitting, would that be enough or is he genuinely looking for more?

Re: Feeding
Judge the amount by how he looks & how he's growing, not by what he wants!
If he's growing well & he isn't thin, then you're doing ok, if he's podgy then cut back a little!

Re: Feeding
Mine eats like a wolf. He can down a whole chicken quarter bones and all in a matter of about 2 min or less. He doesn't have any ill side affects so I think your is just one of the favored few that can eat with amazing speed!

Re: Feeding
You can try putting a tennis ball or someother object in the bowl with the food so he will have to eat around it.

Re: Feeding
We stuff Rocky's dinner into a Kong. This slows him down a little. The link is for a small size one which we use for Rocky and fill it twice with his dinner.
