Dew claw again
Went for a lovely walk somewhere new today through some fields and woods. Flo went off on her own and had a great time exploring. As she was getting back in the car I noticed her Dew claw hanging off. No idea how she managed to break it, she didn't yelp at any time but did put her paw down a hole so it could have been then.
We have to clean her paws after each walk so will be paying extra attention to the Dew claw for the next few days. I'm just waiting for her to settle so that I can remove the bit hanging off

Re: Dew claw again
had the same problem with tessa last year only her paw was covered in blood as it had come off just below the quick. my missus panicked and it was £140 at the vets (thank god for insurance). don't want to clip them myself and don't trust anyone else so once a week she lies on my missus lap while she files them to keep them short. doggy mannicure!!!!!

Re: Dew claw again
It's not so bad, looks worse than it is. She wouldn't let me near her paw last night which is unusual for a front paw. I think I was fussing too much. I had the clippers all ready but she just wouldn't let me near, I know it wasn't hurting her she was just being a minx
After this evenings walk the loose bit was gone so no action required from me after all. Just need to keep it clean
