enzo's claw
Helloo, enzo's top layer of his claw is hanging off hes keep licking it, he seems to be in a bit pain with it because he's yelped when licking it. Is there anything i can do to help him or will it fall off? Thanks for any help x

Re: enzo's claw
You could trim it, most people don't worry tbh but Moo has split her dew claw a few times and If I see a split I trim it

Re: enzo's claw
I tried to trim it but he started yelping and running away from me. Also tried to nip me obviously not to hurt me because he must be in pain. Its been bleeding too. I dont want to stress him out x

Re: enzo's claw
Is it just a normal claw, rather than dew? Are his pads all ok? If he is stressing over it let him settle and try and get a look whilst he is asleep. When Moo split hers for the first time there was a bit of blood, the vets just bandaged it, so I wouldn't worry too much Xx

Re: enzo's claw
His pad is fine. If you imagine his claw the top layer of claw is hanging off as though its snapped. I have tried to take a pic but he won't let me near it x

Re: enzo's claw
Leave him to settle, honestly there isn't much more a vets can do, try and bath it with a disinfectant if you can and see the lie of land tomorrow, my guess all will be fine Xx

Re: enzo's claw
Does it look how it normally does? Are there any signs of a fungal nail infection? These can cause the claws to split and look brittle.

Re: enzo's claw
No infection. It looks as though the front of the claw has snapped off then taken a layer of the topof the claw with it but hasn't fallen off it is still attached at the back of the nail x
