Demodex mange
Hello
I've got a 20 week old girl.
She has just been diagnosed with demodex mange. I've got aludex that I apply once a week.
I just wondered if anyone as experience with demodex and aludex.
Or any other words or wisdom ?
Thanks

Re: Demodex mange
Hi there, yes I have but Daisy was older when she got it, it's quite common in pups and usually once treated won't come back so try not to worry.
We did use the aludex dips and to be honest they were awful, made her quite poorly has the vet given you barrier cream for her eyes when you apply it?

No he's not, he just told me to apply it to her face with a sponge.
I agree they are awful.
Did the aludex cure your dog ?
If so how long did it take ?
Thank you for the help

Re: Demodex mange
My Roxy had it as a pup and she got worse before she got better - but they do overcome it!

Re: Demodex mange
They didn't give it us at first either and Daisy got ulsers from it and has scarring from it in one of her eyes I think Vaseline might work or call into the vets. Daisy had it really bad as she was misdiagnosed with seasonal alopeacia at first so the mites had spread all over her body, when we started treatment she ended up almost completely bald it did work but after 4 weeks of aludex dips she then had another 10 weeks of dips with ivermectin an oral medication each week too. It was a really long haul but I'm sure your pup is no where near as severe xx

Re: Demodex mange
Thank you for your advice.
It seems like such a harsh treatment for such a young pup.
I just hope we get over it quick.
Thanks again
