Hello well what it is I'm looking to breed him but don't know where to start just looking for some expierienced advice on what to do and what not to do? I have been looking on the internet and can't find many blue bitches atall I don't want to advertise him on any buy and selling site,I would also like to know if there was any1 on the forum has a blue girl they would like to breed with my boy

Firstly you need to study breeding

Blue / Blue matings are a no go

Is your boy registered and health tested ??

and hope I'm not speaking out of turn ( I was an admin on here until my workload got the better of me ) but this forum is not for organising matings , there are enough dogs in kennels needing homes without worrying about fixing up matings )

Dave is 100% accurate we don't condone breeding! And blue blue mating is a major no-no and can cause CCD (colour dilution alopecia)

DO ensure all the correct health checks are in place
DO carefully vet any bitches to be compatible with your boy
NEVER breed Blue / Blue
ONLY ever breed if it is for the betterment of the breed , keeping a good one back is not a good excuse

Are you prepared to assist the owner of the bitch in the event of problems , unhomed puppies etc

If you disagree with any of these points then you are not even out of the blocks

You cannot guarantee that the bad stuff won't happen, nobody can. All you can do is lessen the likelihood.

I would still ask you to think again, though. Breeding is best left to the professionals.

I would just like to add, before you go ahead and breed please please think about all the dogs out there that are already trying to find homes, there are thousands of them just look at Battersea's website if in doubt and all are Staffies and Staffie crosses. I can't understand why people still want to breed their dogs when so many need homes...

I don't mean to sound judgemental but why not leave the breeding to the professionals? If you want a friend for your dog there's plenty of beautiful dogs up for rescue.

Also consider that if your dogs are not to the breed standard you also have Breed Specific Law to worry about.
