Query re Pet cover
I've looked through all the previous topics, but I might have missed it:
We have got Deez's renewal through today, and it has gone up £12, to £35 a month. So, I'm looking through all the quotes, etc and I'm struggling to be honest.
I have been advised to get lifetime cover, so the insurance will cover any illness for his lifetime, but they vary in how much a year they will pay.
I would like advice on if, on average, £2000 a year cover would be sufficient? I don't know how much long term medication costs?
I'm sooooo confused, we want the best for our boy, but we need it to be affordable.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Re: Query re Pet cover
It's a minefield, and every insurance company seems to have different levels etc.
Personally I always go for the highest cover, mainly because bull breeds are more likely to get into scrapes than many other breeds!
My last insurance was for £7500 per illness for life. So the company would pay for each illness/condition until the £7500 ran out.
The one I have now is (I think) for £4000 per year for life. A bit more complicated, but for each condition, the policy will pay out up to £4000 per year, with no ceiling on the evntual amount. So if the £4000 ran out during the policy year, I'd have to pay for treatment until the start of the next policy year when the insurance would kick in again.

Re: Query re Pet cover
We have insured Rocky with Argos Pet Insurance on a Lifetime policy. The premium is £19.00 per month.
We were previously with PetPlan who wanted £22.50 per month for the same cover.
With Argos we went for the Platinum Policy which should pay out £7,000 in vet fees, £2 Million in 3rd Party Liability and with £65 excess per incident.
Recently made a claim for his cut foot couldn't fault them for paying out very quickly (within a week of them receiving the claim form from the vet)
Hope this helps.
