New Member Query

Hi all i am not sure if i am using the correct board to ask my question .? so apologies if i am not so here goes... i am a relatively new Staffie owner my dog Lola Mabel is 9 months old now & adorable i am so glad i got her she is a treasure , i was just wondering what would be the right age to get her spade (Neautured) as i do not want to breed her, she has had her first season a month ago now ..any answers would be most appreciated as i am unsure at the moment thanking you in advance. I'd recommend you read carefully through as many info sites as you can (both pro & con) before making your decision.

My own opinion is that she is still too young to be neutered, I'd always recommend waiting until a bitch is fully mature first, so in a stafford's case around 18 months - 2 years old.

You will have to wait 3 months after her first season but the choice is totally yours

Some people don't spay or neuter at all and if you are confident she won't have any accidents you don't need to just because you won't breed, but if you still want to go ahead it's best to wait until about 2years old.
