On saturday we are off out with Alfie and its about a 30 min drive. I can guarantee though every time alfie goea in the car he is sick, even if its a 10 min journey round the corner! Is there anything I can do to help hom? I dont think my mum will appreciate another lot in her car... Shes still trying to get rid of the smell from the last time

Re: Travel sickness
Yep just as Janey says don't feed before the trip. Just bring the kibble with you and feed him when he gets there. It'll be like a reward for good behaviour

Oh right. Bit later than I thought you'd be leaving.
Just get up early and feed him extra early. As long as there's a few hours between feeding and driving it'll be ok (hopefully)
You could even get a wee short walk before that.
Bed early Friday night

Re: Travel sickness
I hope the empty stomach ploy works, Ellie.
My 15 month old pup is still dreadfully travel sick, and it's all down to anxiety due to experiences when he was only 3 months old. Association of ideas, he still has to be lifted into the car - he hates it so much.
I'm still working on the premise that as he becomes accustomed to short journeys (hopefully, although not always due to necessity, with something nice at the end of it, like an exciting walk) he will become more relaxed about car journeys and grow out of it.
Good luck Ellie - we none of us want to see our dogs distressed and vomiting.
