Re: Buzzards on a pheasant (not graphic)
Great spot Hayley and well done gettin a shot ... there's LOADS or buzzards around here, I love watchin um
We also have a sparrow hawk somewhere really close, and I've witnessed it (close up and very graphic) 5 times now, each time with a dove .. the one time the dove hit our dining room window tryin to escape ... it didnt!! ... and was unceramoniously stripped to the bone in front of us
There's also a tawney owl that landed on the tree outside the bedroom window about 6mths back, and we hear quite often at night ... love birds of prey

You just reminded of this Andy.
We have a large cherry tree the other side of our garden fence that a sparrowhawk has used as an eating post before, hubby and me have spotted it there a few times at dusk. Fascinating to watch.

Wow, what beautiful birds they are.
We have the Raptor Foundation about an hour away from us here in Bedford, some of the birds there have been used in the Harry Potter films.

I used to work at the RSPB HQ in Sandy Bedfordshire, although nothing glamorous I was only in the finance department.
