Hey Steve, sorry for the delay in responding. I feed dry. I use Nature's Domain (Salmon) from Costco plus a teaspoon of plain organic yogurt at each feeding. I would do Raw, but my wife is a Kidney transplant recipient plus Earl is a Therapy Dog so we can't risk the chance of salmonella poisoning.

No it's not Jason. It's still legal in many countries and it is VERY legal where I live. Earl's ears were cropped by Dr. Jezbera a certified DVM. So now you've gone from Cropped to "Chopped Off"? Man are you preaching to the wrong choir? 30 year's of owning Pit Bulls and I've only owned one natural eared dog.

Many countries have banned the cropping/chopping of ears. I think all of the EU has now and Australia and newZealand. But obviously America hasnt.

Well, our weekend of shows in Las Vegas went pretty good, but not as good as I hoped. It was a three show weekend; two on Saturday and one on Sunday. In the first show Earl got dumped by Judge Sharon Sundy, but Earl’s litter mate Varro went on to win the class. In the second show Earl took a 3rd Place under Judge Gary Hammonds. Yes, I will have to amend my earlier post stating that Earl has never placed lower than 2nd under Gary Hammonds. In the third show on Sunday Earl took 2nd Place under Judge Brad Wickham. Earl’s other brother Barca took 3rd. This show was the first sanctioned show for the Las Vegas ADBA club. Lots of people showed up from all over the country to support the clubs first show. There were a ton of really nice dogs. The only problem with the show was the heat. It was in the upper 80’s (30c) all weekend long. Everyone was wetting down their dogs in an attempt to keep them cool.

That is an impressive litter! Varro is a gorgeous dog! Have to say, Earl is one of the nicest dogs I've seen!

If you don't know who Leri Hanson is she's a very accomplished trainer and French Ring competitor. Earl and I train with Leri every Sunday at Working Pit Bull Central.

I just came across this site while searching some photos on Google. Andy, thanks for liking Earl so much I appreciate it. Wow, Gem you’re the first person to call my dog Earl a mess. Worst yet you’re basing your statement on your dislike of cropped ears. If you weren’t so blinded by that issue you would see a dog that is 12pts away from his ADBA Championship. You would also see a dog that is very well balanced, very athletic, moves unbelievably and is very well conditioned. Just an FYI Earl has achieved so far his CGC, ADBA Safe Dog 1, CSAU, URO1 and is a certified Therapy Dog. I’ve attached a few more photo of Earl and his butchered ears.

Hi . He is a STUNNER! I personally don't like cropped ears. Only through taste tho. I had boxers when I was younger with cropped tails. Rescue dogs. And think they look nicer with cropped tails.

The reason I don't like the cropped ears... Because it makes them look harder . And they get such bad press, they don't deserve. That's my only reason.

I saw two small rotti pups at a show on saturday. The tails were docked. Unless rottis are a working dog again i dunno why they would have been

Even in NI the law banning docking was passed in 2011, so unless the pups were for Law Enforcement or the Armed Forces, they were docked illegally.

it was an agri show, and we don't really use rottis in the forces here only GSD so im quite certain they were done illegally. the tails were very long whereas professional docking is on the 1st bone i believe. these were about 4 or 5 bones long

Could just be a badly-bred pair with poorly formed tails. Could also be a hereditary medical condition which may have required partial docking. Then again, could be an illegal docking.

Im pretty sure they were illegally docked, they had that little tuft of hair at the end that docked tails usually get

i've admitted it before but will say it again I DO like the look of properly cropped ears on certain breeds APBT and dogos being a couple of them, docked tails am not fussed about. But i don't like the look because it makes them look 'hard' i think it suits the dog and accentuates it's features.

I agree it looks okay on some dogs, Danes and dobermans to me. But I don't like it in pits for some reason. I think their faces are too broad for it lol

As have I ... I also like the look on APBT's ... but I couldnt see me doing it to a dog of my own, I just like the look ... and as I've also said before on the subject, I tend to look past the ears after being a fan of the breed for decades
