I've noticed when my pupp walks I can here his nails stick in the carpet a little, im not sure if they are to long or not as I am a complete novice, how long should they be? and if they are to long how short do I cut them?

Re: Nails
I have a laminate wood flooring and usually go by that if I can hear them they are too long. Rocky has his clipped at a local training centre which has a grooming parlour attached and they charge £4.00 for him to be clipped.

Sounds like he just needs the tips clipped off.
If his nails are white there easier to do yourself but if there black then its a bit harder to judge where the quick is.

They are white nails the ends are even whiter just not sure where to clip them as don't want to hurt him

Re: Nails
You clip the whiter part, just clip off the hook part should be enough.
Avoid the quick which is the pink looking part of the nail, as your cause pain and the dam thing bleeds like a pig if caught.

Re: Nails
Loki's nails are still short, but I reckon if you're a bit worried about it, go to a place that does it, at least the first time, so then you'll know what to do next time.

Yeah think I might rather than risk hurting him, thanks for all the advice.

Re: Nails
We are lucky with Sophie, she keeps her nails short herself by nibbling them.
