Is this normal???

Hey i have a question... Well i have heard from many people that a staffy will start to "fill out" at around 10-12 months (correct me if im wrong) and Bella is 7 months and 27 days but she doesnt seem to be growing much like she seems to be getting a little bigger but she isnt really putting on any weight or anything. Is this normal and she will fill out in a couple months or has she just stopped growing?

They normally grow in height the first 10 to 12 months then for the next 12 to 18 months they grow out Bella looks fine she is a cutie

every staff will grow at a difrent rates.....
they normly go up the way first for about a year,then about a year after that going side ways...

Shes still young...she has plenty of time to grow.

Every stafford is different and a lot of it is down to genetics, how the parents/grandparents were etc.

I wouldn't worry about her 'filling' out as long as she has a god diet, good exercise and is happy - that's all that matters.

i was looking at lola last night and thinking she may be loosing wieght but she seemed taller so maesured her (after twenty minutes of trying to keep her still lol) and shes definately getting taller.as i know for a fact she now recieves more exercise than she ever did i think shes loosing some of her baby fat and using it to grow taller. once shes had a meal though she goes back to being a barrel for 20 minutes lol

ok thanks. I know Bella isnt going to be really stocky but do you think she will still fill out a bit?

I'm sure she will. Enzo seemed to stop growing at one point then all of a sudden he was huge.

Don't forget you see her all the time so you won't notice so much if shes grown..it be people who haven't seen her for a while who will notice.

i think all staffies fill out eventualy ...............its rare you see a skinny staffie

Mostly its all down to genetics and make up of the dog but at some stage we have all probably questioned about our babies not growing as expected as they grow differently but dont worry its all normal. The only thing I would say is if you have seen the parents of the dog then the pup will be of likeness to them in shape and size

When i went to get her the mum was there and she was quite stocky. But i didnt see the dad does this mean that Bella should fill out quite a bit?

Depends a lot on what the dog was like. Have you seen pics?

Bella won't have stopped growing yet, she has a while to go yet! When Dempsey hit 18 months my husband said that he didn't think he'd grown for a while & he wouldn't grow any more. Then a friend came round who hadn't seen him for a month or so & said "Wow, hasn't he grown?".

You often don't see it yourself, but she will continue to grow over the next year to 18 months.
