Is this normal?
Everytime Dragon plays tug of war he bleeds from his mouth, even if we only play for about 2 minutes he'll bleed so it's not because he's been playing for to long, although even when he bleeds he wont stop because he loves a bit of tug of war.
If we play for let's say 10 minutes to 20 minutes he'll bleed a bit and just now I was playing with him for about 5 minutes and he bleed as well but not as much as when he plays for a bit longer, I was wondering if this is normal and I shouldn't worry about him bleeding or if I should worry and maybe stop playing tug of war with him?

Re: Is this normal?
where in his mouth is the bleeding coming from ? Teeth ? gums, tongue cheek....could be a number of things, will he let u have a good look ?
other than that id say trip to the vets or at least ring them, mine dont bleed when playing tug so no experience with this issue.

Re: Is this normal?
Our last dog, a weimaraner, used to love to play tug and he sometimes bled also. We traced this to the nylon rope on the tug toy he was playing with which was kind of causing "rope burns". It never seemed to bother him as it was his favourite game (especially when he won!)

Re: Is this normal?
So it shouldn't be a problem should it? Dragon holds the rope a bit weird so it might burn his mouth which causes him to bleed? What should I do when he bleeds? Stop playing?

Re: Is this normal?
Check to see that his gums are healthy (a nice pink - not dark red or sore-looking) and that there are no ulcers or scratches in his mouth.
If everything looks ok I wouldn't worry too much. maybe use a rope tug toy rather than a rubber one?

Re: Is this normal?
It is a rope not a rubber one.

Re: Is this normal?
My old dog bled now and again when playing tug-of-war. He didn't seem to care. I think, as long as his gums/teeth look healthy, then it's probably just the result of play and nothing to really worry about.

As long as his gums are healthy I don't think it's a problem. Maybe ask the vet the next time you have an appointment to be sure.
