Re: is it normal???
It is normal and a sure sign of dominance/coming into season. If she isn't coming into season then it is dominance.
I'd prevent it if possible as it can be seen as a challenge to other dogs which will lead to fights and arguments which i am sure you do not want.
Tried mounting you.... thats very disrespectful indeed.

If it has been a few months since her season then its must be dominance, she is trying to find out where she stands in your pack and how far she can push other members of the pack.

Interesting, there was this one dog where I used to work that Moo would see all the time. It was kinda a rat fluffy girl thing. 2 years older than Moo. She would try and hump Moo all the time, in a pub that isn't pretty Eventually after a few monthe moo started to try and hump her! Always thought she just fancied girls

Re: is it normal???
That actually made me lol - my 3 female dogs all used to do that, my border terrier had an old hot water bottle she used to do it with and my staff used to try it on anyone mostly my brother when he was lying on the floor watching tv. My other staff used to try it when she was excited I remember my kids were fooling around with my dad on the floor and the dog started humping his leg so funny!!

Re: is it normal???
It's quite common for a bitch to hump other dogs, it isn't just a male thing! Claire's right, it mainly dominance and should be stopped if possible because it could lead to arguments. It also isn't nice for other people.
Dempsey's best friend is a GSD bitch, and she tried to hump him when she was a bit younger - Dempsey was having none of it, and it was the first & only time he ever snapped at her. Mind you, she learnt her lesson & never tried it again!

Definately sounds like dominance. Tank got in his only arguement because of dominance. Should definately be stopped if it occurs again. From first hand witnessing, i know other dogs sometimes dont like it! Haha. Tank used to do it to his bed so he could dominate that haha.
