bitten by a collie!! Empty bitten by a collie!!

Hi everyone, just thought I would share this with you all. A couple of weeks ago my brother was in his garden trimming his hedge, the next door neighbours son-in-law was out doing some weeding, unfortunately he has MS and is in a wheelchair. My brother saw him starting to tip over so instinctivly jumped the wall to catch his fall. He did not stop to think of the dog who has always been a bit tempermental. The dog sniffed his leg then within seconds went back and sunk his teeth in, and was coming back for more snarling and growling. With luck my brother had a hedge trimmer in his hand so managed to block him long enough to get back over the wall. He had two like bullet holes in his leg which the doc said was quite nasty. Fortunately he has healed ok, then only a few days later the neighbour over the road went to the house to help the lady put her bins out as she has just lost her husband, The lady shut the dog in and the neighbour went in to get the bins, as she was leaving the lady let the dog out and he had her pinned against the wall. Unfortunately for her she wasnt so lucky as my brother, he ripped at her skin on her leg and she had a wound 5inch long by 3inch wide and 1inch deep, with sinues hanging out!!. She has been in hospital now a week and has had a skin graph which they hope will knit together, if not it will be plastic surgery!!. Anyway just thought I woul tell this story as if had been a staffy OMG what a HOOHA there would have been!! Rolling Eyes

It is not a nice situation to be in when trying to help someone. Maybe the dog is very protective, which could have caused it to bite when your brother jumped over the wall. Some dogs protect their territory with all their might, but still not nice.

I do hope that all involved get better soon. Dog bites are not very nice at the best of times without being hospitalised in the process.

Had a Staffy been involved the Sun would have been all over it demanding the dog to be pts.

I sometimes have a cheeky grin when it isnt a staff, kind of a FU to the world. Still not a nice thing to happen of course.. i hope she heals well and isn't too effected.
