Feeding query & Slightly itchy... Empty Feeding query & Slightly itchy...

Post by hollymolly Tue Jul 24 2012, 16:36

Sky is now 3 mnths old and she is fed 3 times a day (7.30am, 1pm, 6pm) ... When is it ok to drop her down to 2 feeds aday.. ?
She is on Arden Grange dry puppy food (which i sometimes add warm water to as she like it like that)...

Also my 2nd query is when you give her a rub down her back she scrathes with her back foot as though she is itchy there.. She only does it when you rub her back a little bit harder than stroking it...No where else !!
We are at the moment though having some walls redone at our house which involves knocking the plaster off and leaving bare brick but that makes it slightly dusty, the dogs are out on walks with us when this is happening in the house and we leave them in the garden when we are tidying up the house but am just wondering if its the dust that might be making sky itchy on her back (abit).. Any suggestions to what is making her abit itchy maybe..

I've always fed 4 meals a day till 3 months, then 3 meals a day till 6 months & then 2 meals a day for life.

It could be plaster dust making her skin a bit sensitive, maybe give her a rub down ith a damp cloth every so often? I take it you haven't changed her food or treats?

I'd keep her on 3 meals if I were you, until about 6 months as Caryll has said.

With the leg movement, all my dogs do this when I rub the right bit! They all seem to have favourite scratch points where their leg will start moving like mad when I rub the right bit, I don't think it's anything to worry about Smile

Luckily Sky will leave Inca alone to eat her food but as she finishes her food before Inca then she will wander over to check for any scraps but doesn't get too close an she doesn't even bother to touch the cats bowl ... She understands 'no' very well haha !!!

Both Maska and Loki have peddle paws when tickled on the back nearer to the bum Big Grin

I swithced Maska over to 2 meals a day when he was 4 months old, not the best, but at the time I had no choice due to not being able to get home, doesn't seem to have affected him though.

Loki is almost 4 months old, and I've just switched her to 3 times a day, although she doesn't always finish her "lunch".
