more a brilliant trait of Lola's, she gets no end of fuss, attention and love in the house, but if anyone else comes round she will go and sit with them, and as soon as they give her even the slightest scratch behind the ears, she will look at me as if to say "you never do this!" Laughing Laughing followed shortly by lying on her back for the newcomer (sister, brother in law, family, friends, anybody...)

anybody else have to put up with this?

Funny you should ask that as my parents have just been round to visit us. They love dogs and I think Rocky knows this as his always makes a real fuss of them. He dosn't really act as if he is ignored but laps up all the fuss anyway.

Suki does this as well. If there is someone other than me and the OH around she pays much more attention to them.

Yep, Charlie does it. My dad and his wife have been down over the weekend and Charlie was all over them. He only came back to me when my dad had enough of being pushed off the sofa and told him to get down! Dogs are fickle creatures, I think I need to remind him that I'm the one who feeds and walks him! My Tara will go to any one for a rub of the belly, but Frank isnt so sure, even people who are in and out of our house alot Franks a little ... shy ... i think is the word ill use, he prefers to sit at my feet or curl up behind me.

I used to think it was something i was doing that made him do that, maybe he thought he would get in touble but he has never been in trouble for it and has been watching Tara go for a rub for the best part of this year now!?

Strange little manny! lol xx

Tyson pretends I am dead when there is someone else around. Makes me jealous as hell. But then again, he knows that I wont let him get all silly and excited as I only give affection when he is calm.

We rarely have anyone round, but if someone does come in they have to be warned that Dempsey is a) a full grown, adult, male Bull Terrier & b) he might growl & bark at them, but to ignore him & stand still.

Once he's used to them he sits over the other side of the room & stares at them - very off putting!

Don't you know that visitors only come to see the dogs??

Vin certainly thinks so, we've had some friends in doing work in the house when they normally come over to see HIM, he sulked for ages!

Callie is a huge attention hound with our friends. Please love me, please love me, oh I went and got a toy to show you, please pet me...did you forget about me, I'm going to nose my way right in front of you and wiggle so you remember I'm still here...

She does it to us too, though, it's her M.O., so I can't say I feel neglected. She seems to only flop and show her belly for a pet within the family.

I don't get a look in when we have visitors , unless they are ignoring them both Sad Suppose they think "well you're here most days don't know when we will see these again"
