Irresponsible People :/
Hi all
In the last week whlst out walking with Zac I have twice caught him swallowing discarded chicken bones. What is wrong with people?! Is it too hard to ask them to put their rubbish in a bin? I wouldnt mind but both times they have been discarded within a couple of feet of a bin!!
Today he picked one up and starts breaking it down. I foolishly stuck my hand in his mouth and got nicked by his lovely big boys teeth .. ouch! I did manage to get most of it but then he looks at me with that cheeky look and swallows the rest of it down!!
LOL having a walk these days is a major obstacle course. We have added chicken bones to the top 3 list of things Zac likes to eat on his walk.
Currently number 1 is still duck poo, closely followed by sticks and then chicken bones ha ha
Glad I got that off my chest xx

It's annoying when things get left lying around. At the weekend Violet found an entire carrot, which I thought I'd gotten away from her, but according to the pile of sick on the living room carpet, she'd already eaten some before I shrieked LEAVE IT!

Really dislike discarded chicken bones they are quite dangerous.

Re: Irresponsible People :/
Tbh if they are that close to a bin my first thought would be that a bird had got them out of it. People can't be THAT bad.

You would like to think. Here people can hang their dog poo that they picked up in the trees - they have to walk past the dog poo bin to get to the trees!
I hate chicken bones, luckily Buster hasn't found any on a walk yet - he'd rather stick to the poo I think - sheep, cow, horse, duck, cat... he's not too bothered!

Sadly not. The first lot he got hold off were from pizza hut. Someone had thrown the pizza box with crusts and the chicken box with chicken bones on the floor. He ate the bones and then went for the pizza too!
People do the same thing with the poo bags around here too! It makes me think why go to the effort of putting it in a bag if you are just going to dump it anyway!! Grrrrr Zac always seems to wait till we pass all the bins and then does his poo so I have to carry his little bag of poo all the way round the walk with me ha ha!!

I feel for you with the things they pick up. Our lake walks are full of bones of all sorts after a weekend when people have been picnicing.

Doesnt it make you mad Lynne! I dont think people realise or even care about the animals that may eat these remains.

Re: Irresponsible People :/
My old girl choked on a chicken bone picked up on a walk, in fact it cost me £180 at the vets to get it removed.

Re: Irresponsible People :/
In our local woods people hang green bags of poop from trees.. looks gross and I always get this guilty feeling every time I pass one just because I have my dogs with me ( It isn't!!I need to add and i do take some down and bin them on my way round) On today's walk we avoided a tube of Pringles, scattered on the verge, a pack of Tuna n cucumber sandwiches, 1 Easter egg, broken into pieces and right across the footpath and the usual chip paper wrappers... I really wish people wouldn't be so flammin Lazy, gone are the days if you were caught you'd get a clip round the ear hole and told to pick it up!!! Poor Rolo can't beat temptation yet... my other lad gives anything he finds out a wideberth as he knows he'll get told to leave it

Re: Irresponsible People :/
Thats what I worry about Kelly ... I hope your girl was ok after a visit to the vets, still a costly piece of chicken eh?!
Claire its a lack of respect for their environment as well. I do wonder if they treat their own homes the same way and sadly they probably do
Our staffs do their bit for the environment by hoovering up all the rubbish they find on their walks! Zac even ate cigarette butts the other day!

Re: Irresponsible People :/
Why on earth would you hang a poo bag from a tree? If you take the time to pick it up in the first place why not just throw it away?

I know that look well. I tell Bella to drop something and thats her cue to swallow it as fast as she canIrene wrote:Today he picked one up and starts breaking it down. It's the same here. I live in the town centre and the place is just covered in litter, especially just after lunch time when the school kids have been around, there's half eaten roll, sandwiches, crisp packets and sweets everywhere. And the thing with the poop bags I don't get at all, they bag it and leave it sometimes right beside the bins

They love to eat everything dont they? I dont think Zac has turned up his nose at anything to date. He will eat absolutely anything ha ha. The poop bag thing is madness, I just dont understand doing half a job, so to speak

Mine too. And some of the dog walkers around here must think it too, they don't even bother picking it up! that really annoys me. When I go out on the field by our house with the kids I need 4 sets of eyes to watch where everyone is standing and what the dogs are up too! It is a field that kids play on alot, have the decency to clear up after your dog!

I spent a lifetime telling Zac to leave it and if we go out with the girls too I find myself yelling 'watch out for the poo'!! What happened to a leisurely relaxed walk ha ha!

It's ludicrous, isn't it? My neighbour was cutting his hedge with a power cutter last summer when the blade ripped through a bag full of poo someone had pushed into the hedge - it sprayed everywhere.
