MY 7 MONTH OLD STAFFY BITCH HAS MANGE.the vet is not having much success treating it. its getting worse. please can anyone give any advice?

Take her to another vet and see if they can help. Secondly this is contagious, so I'd make sure you'd keep her away from other dogs.

when you use sheep dip or products like that you have to use the exact dose...there are really strong flea rinses over here, and dogs have actually died because the owners used too strong a mix and it has gotten in to the dogs blood stream...
must be so frustrating for you and your dog though.. ..

thanks. i understand the dosage is very important. being uber careful. seems to be working already !!!HAD TO DO SOMTHING TO HELP PS its red mange. poor little thing......

Has your vet done skin scapes?
I would be careful of powerful sheep/cattle dips, they can cause more problems than they solve.
Have you thought about a different approach?

Don't forget that although the medicated shampoos etc may kill the mites, the effects on the skin last for about 4 - 6 weeks, so you may not see any sign of improvement straight away. Camrosa ointment, used in conjunction with your vet's prescribed treatment, will sooth the skin & prevent inflammation. If you phone Camrosa, they are extremely helpful & will advise on what you could be doing.
