Poorly the day after jabs
Paddy had his first jab yesterday and more or less to the hour, he's been sick 24 hours later. He's quiet and subdued and sleepy
The vet did say this may happen for upto two, maybe even three, days later. But being a new Staffie mommy again I think I'm just looking for some reassurance.....
Also, he's off food. Just not interested. But it's probably best to leave his tummy to settle anyway I think??

Typically, as I posted that, worrying my head off, he perked up and bolted after the cat *sigh*
Still unsure wether to keep him off his food for 24 hours though.........

Re: Poorly the day after jabs
I wouldn't keep him off food entirely, he's too young.
Try to tempt him with some scrambled egg or mashed potato. They're often a little subdued after their jabs, but it's better if he can eat a little something.

I would try to get him to eat. If he has a favorite treat or meal you could try that. Sometimes after the first injections they get a bit sluggish.

Aw bless him. Its normal for them to feel off for a bit, but as Caryll and jstaff said, I would try to get him to eat a little something at least. Scrambled egg is good, as is rice and a little bit of chicken. It might help if you pretend its yours first, they always seem to want our food! Hope he's back to his usual self soon

Thankyou He's fine today. Well, a little sickly this morning (which he duly rolled in *sigh*) but full appetite again

Re: Poorly the day after jabs
I think it's worse cos he looks (or seems) so small and vunerable. With Tara, obviously being fully grown for most of our lives with her, it was like she could tackle anything. Seeing Paddy as a pup is like !!!!!
Anyway, he's fine now look LOL!
