Progress - thank you Empty Progress - thank you

Have been taking Harry out regularly in the car over the past few weeks and have used bach rescue remedy a couple of times to help him with his anxiety and yesterday was the first time he didn't pant once. I'm so pleased, he will jump in the car quite happily, has learned to wait when I open the door and not try and jump straight out (although he is wearing a safety belt). Must admit he doesn't seem to enjoy his walks when we drive somewhere quite as much as the walks we have in our local fields, its almost as though he is just going through the motions and seems quite relieved when we get back to the car. But hopefully that will improve.

But the thing I'm overjoyed about is that he is nowhere near as aggressive to other dogs now as he was a month ago. Don't know whether its because its 8 weeks ago today he was castrated, whether hes forgotten being attacked, or maybe the rescue remedy. Have been really working with him and today when we met a dog across the fields he sat and looked at me waiting for a piece of cheese as a reward. I could have burst in to tears I was so happy. The thing he won't accept is other dogs sniffing his rear end and any that persist trying to do this are at risk of real aggression, has anyone else had experience of this and can offer advice please. Harry is still starting some training next week and I hope to socialise him more.

Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice it really is so much appreciated.

Thats great news! Its always fantastic when things fall into place Smile I think the slight dog aggresion with the sniffing maybe something that he will always be like but you never know, with more socialisation, maybe not. Mine is very dog friendly, but if a dog persists to do something she'll turn and snap, who can blame her/him! Smile

Keep up the good work Smile

Really pleased for you.

If anyone has a remedy for him not liking other dogs sniffing his bum, I'll be very interested - I've never been able to get Dempsey NOT to react to that!
