Progress! Empty Progress!

So we've been clicker training the little goblin that we live with and it's shown some promising results

But even better, we went for a walk with a friend, who used to live with us with her Lab, Rory. Shes not seen Rory for a while so she was very happy. We were in a new place so muzzles were on, but she was off lead until i saw another dog

We only saw three but we didn't shout at anyone! Even though we were quite close to all of them (one of them which was allowed to get within inches of her by the silly owner - my pet hate angry  but no harm no foul i suppose)

She did spectacularly and I'm very, very pleased

It was all so very relaxed. And we couldn't find the clicker so it didn't come with us but she was really on the ball with her obidience. We had a good two hours coz we didn't have to give up for any reason so she's happily snoozing on the couch now. She's a good girl

It's actually an eye opener when you realise that a relaxed owner equals a relaxed dog Big Grin

I guess you don't notice the progress made until it suddenly dawns on you how far you've really come.. Well done you two thumbs up

Continue to add that good progress is still being made. most evenings we go out and do some focus training on the local greenway and so far we're doing well.

A couple of shouty incidences but I put this down to the facts that she's sees some of the dogs on the greenway quite regularly, and quite regularly, as we refer to it in our house, "flips her s**t" at them. So I imagine they're more of a challenge, because they're not strange dogs...they are her mortal enemies (even though most of them are very very lovely)

She's currently desperate to play with a rottie who's started making an appearance, he has a ball so obv looks like great fun to her but she's not allowed at the moment, but when he passes he's great to use him to help her learn to break her fixated stares. She's getting quite good at it

That's brilliant, sounds like a very well earned snooze on the couch!

Great that there's a new dog for Texas to work with rather than her "mortal enemies" - I'd not thought it through but that makes total sense they'd be more of a challenge.
