Skin Issues PLEASE HELP
Over the previous 2 months we've begun experiencing skin issues with our 2.5 year old baby girl Gula. I kind of think it may be an allergy to a long haired kitten we took in as a rescue, we had to briefly bottle feed her by she's doing well and we are in the process of rehoming her. It's been relatively difficult to keep Gula and Ellie (kitten) separated because they really get along minus the struggle of working with Ellie and her claws in literally EVERYTHING. So we've decided to rehome her because she does attack my other cat and always uses claws when playing. Gula went from having a beautiful coat of fur to scratching and biting herself like crazy causing scabs and infected spots (which we treated and are healed up at this point), to be covered in bald spots and we aren't positive what's going on. Unfortunately I won't be able to get her into a vet for a few more weeks due to some financial issues that have recently occurred. So I thought I'd reach out here to see if anyone had any suggestions to help my poor baby girl. We've tried antihistamines but they don't seem to help other than to put her to sleep which she just scratches in her sleep. I'll attach some photos.

Wow, that looks sore!
It's difficult to tell, but is she a blue brindle?

Re: Skin Issues PLEASE HELP
She looked blue brindle in the first few pics, but a sort of smokey black in the last ones.
I only asked because blues do get a lot of skin problems.
Have you tried giving her Piriton? If it's an allergy response then Piriton may help.

If you get it at a pharmacy don't say it's for your dog - they won't serve you. Go for Piriton (not Piriteze) or the exact equivalent. You can also use Benadryl (children's antihistamine). One tablet of Piriton, twice a day, or one teaspoon of Bendryl twice a day.

Oh gosh, how uncomfortable looking
Could indeed be an allergy to the kitten,
I presume the kitten didn’t bring unwanted parasites or illnesses ?
Just curious that your dog has no allergy problems with your other cat.
Another thing that might help a little is using something like this
www.medicalpetshirt.com
I have used them for post-op and can honestly recommend.
It could be a barrier for whatever the allergy is and help to protect the skin from the claws during scratching, giving it a better chance of healing quickly.

The kitten did have fleas when she came in but we have completely gotten rid of them from all 3 animals and the house as well. No other parasites were detected during the kittens vet visit and neither of the cats have shown any symptoms at all.
I attempted to follow the link you shared and it prompts me to sign in so I am unable to view it but if you have another link I could try that would be awesome!
Thank you so much!
