Introducing a new puppy to my staffy
Hi there.
My daughter came in 1 week ago with a very small 13 week old puppy, now I have 3 dogs already and all have accepted it, but I'm unsure about the behaviour towards the puppy from my staffie.
I have only allowed the staffie to see the pup via the pup in a crate and initially she was panting and shaking so quite stressed.
One week later she is now licking the pup through the bars, but still a bit tense and licking her lips a lot and still staring intensly, but then she always does this anyway, should I be worried?
My staffie is very playful and so is the pup, I just need a bit of advice on how to get them together safely.
Thank you

Re: Introducing a new puppy to my staffy
Hi from me & Katy, welcome to our forum Did your daughter tell you she was bringing this pup home, what breed is it? Not that it matters, I was just interested Tbh honest it sounds like your staffie wants to get closer & mother the pup. Let them have supervised time together out of the crate, I'm absolutely sure your staffie will be fine with the pup Please post some pics of your fur babies

Re: Introducing a new puppy to my staffy
Thank you.
It is a little Border Terrier cross and she is tiny, my staffie is very small too, but very strong, so I'm a bit anxious whilst the pup is so small, but I can't keep them separated much longer so will have to bite the bullet and just go for it.
I will get some good photos and post them x
