Has has anybody got any feedback on Harkline staffords? Are the staffords from that kennel known to be of high quality?

They have bred champions, but I can't find a website to say what they test for.
Are you thinking of getting a pup from them?

I've bought a girl that was sired by Harkline Bohemian Rhapsody, which is son or grandson of Harkline Robbie the Bruce. Just wanted to know if anyone knew much about them. I know the Fella from the Kennel is the Chairman of some kind of Stafford show somewhere. Mr and Mrs Harkin.

Re: Harkline Kennels
How do people manage to find these bloodlines that have tens of champions? Are they in circles that the everyday person can't be in?

Oh my heart, she is beautiful I guess you are now in the bloodline circle depending on whether you want to breed from Luna & if it's allowed from her breeders

She's endorsed but only against export. When you say I am within the bloodline circle, was that in reply to my question about how people find such thorough champion heavy bloodlines?

Having champions in a pedigree doesn't necessarily mean that pups will be fantastic!
A good breeder doesn't just look at the red ink (champions), they look at the dogs & bitches in the ancestry & then decide which stud dog will suit their bitch best!

I kind of already knew that tbh, my girl hasn't got too many champions in her bloodline, but has got some that have been very successful within the show rings. I was just asking from a standpoint of how these kennels have found such dogs that able them to advertise their puppies to carry high numbers of champions and pass down 20+ champions to their puppies. I found my puppy by researching and actually talking to the breeder, he was very informative and knowledgeable and it was seeing his dogs that made my decision.

Re: Harkline Kennels
I would approach her breeders & ask their advice. Also, contact your local SBT club.
Ring craft classes can be difficult to find, depending on which area you live in. Again, your breeders can help, as can your local SBT club. This FB page may help...

Re: Harkline Kennels
She certainly is a beauty and I’m sure you won’t be out of place in a show ring. Just bear in mind that showing is very very subjective and it depends on the judge’s tastes at that time. As long as you always have fun, the rest becomes bonus

Yes and I'd imagine there's a massive amount of favouritism goes on aswell. Like if a judge knows the kennel your puppy is from or the person showing the dog, then it's a biased opinion. There's alot of stuff that's putting me off tbh.. I just want to show the world my girl and how proud I am of her beauty and quality.

Re: Harkline Kennels
Don’t be put off by showing but just be aware of what can go on, even if it doesn’t happen every time. It also depends at what level you are showing and the judge’s mood on the day.
I would suggest trying it if you have the opportunity and then make up your own opinion without preconceived ideas
Maybe via your local canine school, they might have contacts they can put you in touch with. As to showing her off, there are plenty of ways to achieve that too
My Opium was pulling in the compliments in obedience classes because she was an “atypic breed” (most are working dogs like shepherds and collies)

I agree, I'll have to attend some classes first anyway so she's atleast going to give me her full attention when I ask her to. She's already sitting, and going to down position on command, well nearly everytime. I appreciate everyone's help so far.

If you're going to show, the last thing you want is for her to sit every time you stop! With showing, your dog needs to stand still, in a certain position (depending on the breed) and look alert. That's why most 'showers' go to ringcraft.

Oh yes that makes lots of sense lol.. I'm really struggling to find ring craft training near me(Darlington). It's frustrating to say the least.

Bit late on this as I've just rejoined.
My girl Dakota was sired by crossguns Highlandfling at tagstane who was sired by Ch harkline Robbie the Bruce he was a stunning dog. My girl was a fantastic dog she had a temperament second to none , she would run all day for you obey everything first time every time couldn't fault her. I would say you'd be choosing a good line going harkline.
