Kennels?
Where do you send your dogs when you go on holiday etc and cant take them with you? Do you put them in kennels of does someone else look after them? I used to put mine in kennels and they were very good kennels, but now my brother-in-law has them.

Re: Kennels?
I prefer to leave mine with someone unless there is a really good kennel nearby

Re: Kennels?
I take Dempsey with us, as we go camping. When we first got him, however, we'd already booked & paid for a holiday in Ireland & we couldn't take him. He stayed in a specialist bull breed kennel for a week.

Re: Kennels?
We only had Rocky for just over a year so it hasn't come up yet, but we would probably go somewhere where he could come with us too.

Re: Kennels?
Well hubby recently bought a van and has just finished converting in into a camper so this year it will be lots of long weekends down to cornwall with the dogs! We have however got a 4 day break booked where the dogs will go to kennels, its not fair on the kids other wise as we are very restricted for days out etc

Re: Kennels?
Last year we went to a caravan for a week and the dogs stayed at home because they wanted 60pound per dog!! We couldnt afford that at the time so my best mate and my brother took it in turns to stay and watch my two for a week .. My old boy diesel when we went abroad my uncle's mom stayed the week to look after him .
This year my two are coming away with us to a caravan week in cornwall they only want ten pound for both dogs for the week an its a better site! Says it all really lol

Re: Kennels?
the east coast love dogs, i may not be everyone cup of tea but skegy is an dog friendly place to be you can go anywhere with your dogs
Re: Kennels?
The kids love hoeseasons/haven holidays which means they like going out dancing etc all evening and swimming 3 times a day lol. Plus we cant take dogs to for instance flambards/crealy/ any adventure parks for kids which we spend all day literally at. We think its a good comprrimise to do a few days away with out the dogs so we can do all those other things with the kids and let them be the centre of attention since days out revolve around the dogs any other time we go awaySteve wrote:why would there be any restricted with taking dog on holiday?

Re: Kennels?
We went in our camper to skeggy last year and took skye with us to Butlins she loved the ammusements at the theam park and didnt mind the noise or the crowds of people
This year we are going down to cornwal (weve been so many times with our long haired gsds) and both dogs will be coming
Im lucky both my kids are older (15 and 14) so will go off swimming etc but we made sure our camper has good air con so if we do go out for a few hours the dogs stay cool and safe
A holiday for me and the family is not a proper one without all the family
