Have you say on Bsl/dangerous dogs act
Hi all
I don't know if you are aware but parliament are asking for people to comment on the current dangerous dog laws/bsl.
Feel free to share the link as it would be lovely to see dogs being judged on Deed and not their looks. This would stop family pets being ripped from their homes and left to suffer in police kennels.

Re: Have you say on Bsl/dangerous dogs act
I've just submitted my essay!! You can read other people submissions, I've read a few and the consensus seems to be judge the deed not the breed which is what I agree with. I have read on a fb that some ignorant person has asked for staffs to be added to the dangerous dog list but luckily I haven't read that submission myself.if you do get a chance before midnight tonight please please make your thoughts known in this cruel ineffective law.

Just looked on the parliament website again- looks like there is a oral evidence meeting scheduled for tomorrow with representatives from Battersea and Dogs Trust etc. Lets hope this brings about change in the law.

That would be good, but at the risk of being called pessimistic, I doubt it.
If they lift BSL all the b*******s who currently use Staffords as status symbols will rush out & buy badly bred pit bulls.
I can't stand BSL but what the alternative is, I don't know.

Yes sadly I do agree with you about people buying poor Pits and abusing them. I just hope something can be done about the dogs currently taken from their owners just because of how they look. I just cant imagine the heartbreak this must cause both the dogs and the owners.

Re: Have you say on Bsl/dangerous dogs act
Just read some more submissions, so many people want this law changed. The support is so positive apart from a few submissions including the police! Hopefully this evil law will change soon.

Peta has asked for Staffys to be added to the list of banned breeds. I'm completely shocked. Seems a lot of people have made their thoughts on this known on Peta Facebook page under their post saying they respect all animals! Obviously not if they are a bully.

Re: Have you say on Bsl/dangerous dogs act
I have no time for PETA. These are the people who say that no animal should be 'owned', and who release animals in to the 'wild' without a thought as to what will become of them.
They are extremists & love nothing better than a controversial argument to put them in the spotlight.

Yes I completely agree, how they can suggest Staffords should be banned just make me sick.

I had no time for them before and even less now (if that's actually possible ).

They are a bunch of (dangerous) loonies. Too extreme, too violent for my liking. Their ways of protecting animals is counter productive with most right thinking people.
