Hi from Glasgow
Hi! I’ve just signed up to look in to the possibility of adding a staffie to our family. My partner and I sadly just lost our dog and the house feels so empty without him and our daughter keeps looking for him. We’d love a child friend,y dog who can grow up alongside our daughter and are keen to get our research done and potentially meet some staffies and their owners - my partner hasnt met many, although i have and used to work with them too.
Looking forward to getting to know folk!

Hi and welcome from me and mine
If you're looking for a great family dog to grow up with your daughter, look no further! Staffies aren't called the Nanny Dog for nothing!
What sort of work did you do with them previously?

Hi, I used to work for the Scottish spca so we had a lot of them coming through our doors, I’ve always had a soft spot for them! I grew up with a big boxer and loved it so would love a similar experience for my daughter. She’s very bold and has no fear of dogs at all so it needs to be a confident dog we get!

Hello and welcome from us.
Nifty is definitely one who will seek out any child to lick them to death
I also think staffies are great because you have a big dog in a pocket-size format.

Re: Hi from Glasgow
Lap dogs we can deal with, my previous dog was slightly larger than a staffie and would cuddle you paws round the neck style! It seems tough to find a good breeder that doesn’t just have blue staffies - nothing against them but we’re not looking for a “fancy” coloured one, just one that will fit in well and adore our daughter.

Ah yes, this is definitely one of Nifty's specialities, and she’ll nibble your ears too if she can reach them !Autumnal wrote:my previous dog was slightly larger than a staffie and would cuddle you paws round the neck style!
I understand the “problem” with breeders looking to propose colour before the rest. I was lucky enough to find a breeder who is actually “anti-blue” and who lives with the pups 24/7 from birth to departure in order to ensure they have seen a maximum of things before leaving the nest

Hi
Have had a look at local rescues to adopt?
I know some won't place a dog with a family with kids under a certain age, however, if they know a dogs history and that it is used to wee ones they are ok with that.
May be worth a try, my wee girl is a rescue and is great with little people and well, people in general really Staffies are very people friendly lol
Staffie Rescue Scotland or The Underheugh Ark or SSPCA centres?
Hope you find the dog that is looking for you to take them to their furever home

Hi & welcome.
If you're looking for a pup, make sure that the parents have been tested for the inherited problems in the breed. If you're not sure what those are & need help, just ask!

Re: Hi from Glasgow
Hello from me n smudge! (also in glasgow) Have you tried Staffie rescue scotland? They are a great group who save and rehome dogs in need? Thats where I got my smudge and hes been a great wee boy Ive been very lucky! I am a great believer in rescue, there are SO many poor little lonely staffies out there desperate for some love. I have to say getting him has been one of the best things I have done, staffies are wonderful dogs.
