Thanks guys, we are excited and nervous and have a lot to prove to our friends and family who are a little dubious of staffys. Some great reads on here already.

As long as you get the training in and socialise your new fur friend you won't go far wrong.
Are you getting a he or a she, and any name yet ?

Re: New Staffy Puppy
Hi, welcome from Koda & I in Sydney ! How exciting !! My #1 tip - get some sleep now while you can !!!!! And don't get sucked into the 'oh but he/she is so cute so he/she can sleep on our bed 'just tonight'' - it's a trap, we now squeeze to the sides on our Super King bed as our 22KG shoves his way around on ours !!!!

Re: New Staffy Puppy
Ha ha, we are thinking of letting him sleep with us the first night to get used to us and then into a routine in his crate.

Re: New Staffy Puppy
Crating is fine, just make sure it's comfy and has some item of clothing that you've worn so that he has the scent to fall asleep to

Re: New Staffy Puppy
Evening All, Bandee has settled in well after his spontaneous television debut for a documentary about Dogs Trust. He is abit more mouthy than when first met him but using a chew toy seems to really help. Bandy is in his crate for the night now which his foster mum said was where he liked to be.
I can't seem to attach a photo at the momennt but when ive figured out how i will.

Re: New Staffy Puppy
Evening All,
Bandee has spent his first 2 nights with us both in his crate that dogs trust had trained him in, he had us up twice the 1st night.
Last night he slept from 10.30 until 7am no fuss . Had a great day with him today currently sat watching xfactor with Emily..... need to sort his music taste out though.

Re: New Staffy Puppy
Awww, welcome from herbie and I, he sounds lovely, herbs doesn't sleep with us, he has a crate, it would be like having a third person in our bed, plus he snores worse than my husband!
Don't want to put a downer on things, but you said he was bandy, keep an eye on that, our boy has had a lot of issues with his back and front legs, floating knee caps, displaysia and now, at not quite two years, arthritis. It may be that your man is just bandy, but do keep an eye.
And as for advice, lots of cuddles and a good diet (we do raw,but don't get me started ...)! Best of luck to you all!
