White staffy getting thinning skin and very pink in areas
Hi everyone,
My first post so apologies if this has been asked already....
As my title reads, my 2 year old white male staffy seems to have patches of thinning coat with pink skin particularly around his muzzle, ears, belly and legs.
We've only had him a month and he is a rescue.
As myself and my partner don't know much of his history we can only guess he hasn't had the best start.
I've done some research and it's looking like a possible allergy? We're feeding him dry food but not sure what's the best for Him?
I have a picture of his belly but can't quite figure out how to add it so I'll be back once I figure out how to lol.
Thanks in advance x

Hi ya, welcome to the forum from Flo and me
You can post pics by:-
Looking above the box that you write a reply in and see the You Tube Icon, to the left of the box that it's in is a symbol of a screen and a floppy disc, click on that and upload the picture. You then copy the IMG code once it's uploaded and paste it in to a reply box.
Or.... At the top of the home page you'll see an FAQ on how to post pictures using photobucket.
As for the fur loss, it could well be allergies but I guess the first stop is the vets to have a skin scrape. This will rule out any mites or nasties.
As for food allergies, what dry are you feeding, is it hypoallergenic?

Re: White staffy getting thinning skin and very pink in areas
Is he from a rescue organisation? If so, I would ask them. It's possible that he's had this before and they thought it had cleared up.
As Crystal says, staffies are prone to skin problems. They are also very sensitive dogs and sometimes react to changes in their environment, skin problems are not unsual as a stress response. That's not saying being with you is stressful! Any change can be stressful and upset the system.
So my first thing would be contact the rescue, then the vet.
