Tip for dogs with grass allergies + gooey gunky eyes
Zeus suffers very badly with a grass/pollen allergy, especially in the past month or so with the high pollen counts and the fact that I'm taking him to the park twice a day for an off lead run.
When spring started, his eyes were really bad, endless amount of goo coming out of them and he was quite visibly in some discomfort. However, I done a bit of research and read quite a few reviews of people using green tea to clean their dogs eyes.
I've been using it for the past 2/3 weeks now and have had brilliant results. I make a cup of green tea a day (leave it in the kitchen with the top covered) and use it three times a day on him (1 x morning when he wakes up, 2 x after each park run). I dip a cotton ball in the tea, squeeze the excess liquid out and just clean from the top of his eye down to the bottom, removing anything around his eye and hopefully any pollen that might be around his eye.
I now wake up to gunk free eyes and he's stopped scratching his eyes as much! If only I knew this a few years ago!

It's brilliant isn't it! My friend uses this as an all over bath for her terrier who suffers from allergies - it really soothes her skin!

Camomile and Rooibus <-sp? tea is supposed to be great too! We were using the Rooibus one when Bane had scratched his skin silly and it did help soothe it!

I don't think that would count personally, in my experience and from reading other reviews, green tea would have to be applied topically to be effective for skin treatment.
