Gunky eye
Hi there!
So Harley usually gets bits of 'sleep/gunk' stuff in his eyes after he's been napping (not a lot just now and again) but today one eye seems to be a bit worse than usual and the eye seems a little bit more watery and pink towards the inside and is slightly bloodshot. He's not struggling to open it and seems 100% fine so I'm not sure if I'm just worrying a bit too much (first time puppy mum) - was thinking of keeping an eye on him the rest of the day and if it carries on to book in with the vets just to be safe. Been reading up on conjunctivitis but not sure if it could be that. Any thoughts would be helpful!

Re: Gunky eye
Bo had the same a while ago. If it's obviously worse than usual and it's been like that for a day or more I'd go to the vets. Bo got some eye drops which cured it in 24 hours, although he had to keep taking them for a week. Luckily he sits still as a statue for eye drops!

Re: Gunky eye
My old dog had that frequently. Went to the vet and got some eye drops that cleared it up

Re: Gunky eye
My previous dog had this, it was just a minor infection that could be cleared up with eye drops from the vets. Until then, bathe with warm water and cotton wool to keep it clean.

Re: Gunky eye
Bane had it too and it sounded like conjunctivitis. We managed to clear it up with Apple Cider Vinegar but eye drops are just a quick visit to the vets!
Just remember to keep his eyes clean and use clean pads or tissue for each eye! Don't want it spreading to the good eye

Re: Gunky eye
Little update: the next day it looked a lot better and then completely cleared up! We're going to keep our eyes on it though and if it does happen again take him into the vets
