feeding 6 week year old
I'm feeding my 6 week year old, Orijen puppy food and not really measuring weight or amount, just filling her little dish and letting her graze when she wants to, should I be holding her food back or is just leaving it there for her ok ?

Re: feeding 6 week year old
3/4 small meals a day may be better to measure it out, personally whats not eaten after 20 mins I would take it away

A puppy of that age shouldn't have left its mum & siblings yet. Is there a reason you got it so young?
At that age you should be giving 4 meals a day. I wouldn't let a puppy graze like that.

she was a few days away from being 7 weeks, I know that's a little to soon, but all the puppies where going 6-7 weeks.

I would always feed at set meal times so that you can roughly predict and monitor when they go to the toilet.
However, my parents have always left a bowl of dry biscuits down for their dogs and they just graze as and when they are hungry and that's just what has worked for them.
It's down to your preference, but at that age it may be better to monitor her food intake a little more to be sure that she is eating enough and there are no problems.

Re: feeding 6 week year old
I like to know what mine are eating so i weigh out food and give in two set feeds. whats not eaten is taken away. for a young pup you will need alot more regular feeds like Inez mentioned. feeding and removing what isnt eaten will help you monitor appetite. also high fat puppy milk at that age wouldnt hurt, pah or tesco sell it.
