have a 3 year old staff picking up a 7 week old
like the title says i currently have a 3 year old staffy and will be picking up another 7 week old staffy next weekend.
my 3 year old is male he is nutered and gets along great with other dogs when away from my house the only time someone brought there dogs to my house was 2 apbt mixes one male one female he was fime with the female but was trying to show domonance over the male... the 7 week old one is female
i was wondering how to proerly introduce them and make the trasistion good for both of them? anyone think there will be an issue of him trying to hurt her??

Good that your boy is neutered for starters, and also that you are having a female. Make sure you introduce them on neutral ground and try to make usual fuss of your male still when new pup is home. It will get a tad rough I assume (never had 2 together) but as long as you are there to step in.

think there would be trouble if it was another male but a female is fine the male dog will be the females protector

Walk them on neutral ground if possible. Avoid fussing over the new pup and not your current dog. An article of clothing with the new pup's scent brought home early will also help.

Great advice above. If you can get the puppy smell to your older before they meet will be good.
Meeting on neutral ground is sound advice too as is obviously keeping a close eye on the two of them while they settle in.

I have a 6 year old female staff, shes great with dogs outside but dogs inside our home not as good, but with puppies shes fine, I wouldnt worry to much just make sure you get them interacting and playing together, walking next to eachother on a lead, he maybe be a bit pff standish until he realises the puppy is there to stay.

When we got our puppy out older dog wouldn't come in the living room. It sat outside in the hall for a couple of days until it was ready to come in. She was fine with the puppy . Both dogs are female. Don't give the older dog into trouble if you hear it growling at the younger dog now and again. It's just telling it off
