Milo staying with dogs on park
Milo is now 11 mths old & brilliant on recall when there's no dogs around on the park - but - as soon as he sees one he's off and nothing will stop him. He plays very energetically and a little rough-ish - but can I get him to come away ?!!!! He's just oblivious of me and won't come back.
He's never aggressive - just never stops jumping & play-biting with the other dog/s.
I use a long training line but I do like to release him whenever I can and it's always when I've done this that another dog appears in the distance.
Does anyone have any sort of idea how long it'll be before he starts to listen to me and calm down a bit or any tips of training etc? I use yummy treats ie - chopped bits of turkey / sausage / cheesybite etc which he loves.

Try recall in the garden on the lead at first . But only for 10 mins at a time theres a section here staffordshire bull terrier training and behaviour.

Re: Milo staying with dogs on park
I would suggest keeping hold of the lead if you can't fully trust him.
Maybe when you see a dog, get him to sit and stay and practice that. Or pull on the lead to prompt his recall, he then should learnt that when there is a dog, he should either come back or sit and wait.
All it takes is one time for him to approach an unfriendly dog and if it is the other side of the park you won't be there to stop any bad situation that might arise.
