I totally agree with you!! Rubbing her nose in it is cruel and abusive and I'm afraid if the rescue centre thought he'd do this they may not have let you rescue her. She's new to your home and there's a transition period she'll be nervous and scared already, she needs time, care, patience and persistence, and yes I'd rub his nose in it lol!! Xx

How about going back to basics with her give her a key word ie wee or wee wees<-- mine lol and take her out every 1/2 hour or so when she goes treat her. She'll soon learn doing her business outside gets her a treat Smile xx

She will be unsettled. her world has been turned upside down again "god love her"
What she needs is lots of love with no raised voices when she goes to the loo in your home - just a stern no is enough; then take her outside straight away to show her where to do her business, along with lots of praises afterwards. I'm sure you will be OK soon  Smile

at 7 months shes still a pup and if shes been in kennels she has prob forgotten any house training she had - i agree with every 30min-60min outside for " wee wee " and if has accidents just clean it up - dont shout but give off body language that youre not pleased - and tell OH all dogs are different so stop being a know it all ass and be patient with her x

Congrats on your new addition! Smile I would say firmly 'naughty' & take my pup out regularly to wee outside, they soon learn. I'm on your side re rubbing nose in it, no need. When pup wee's inside spray area immediately with urine remover to tale the smell away, if pup smells the scent she will keep repeating.

I agree. Running her nose in it is barbaric; cruel and lazy training.

I definitely would never do that!

Daisy is a rescue and had a few accidents at first. What I did was use 'do your business' as my toilet phrase and I would take her out, wait until she started to do something and then start repeating the phrase while she was doing it and then praise her afterwards. She soon caught on, now I can open the door tell her to go out and and do her business and she does  Smile

yea my two at 11pm - when me and the mrs stand up and turn off lights i say " wee wees " they both shoot out dogflap - do their stuff - then go upstairs to their beds and "settle" -- it just takes using certain phrases and routines -they soon learn

definitely no to rubbing her nose in it,being a rescue god knows what she's been through, give her time to adjust to your house,i know its not nice when they have accidents in the house but be patient with her, going back to basic training with her will help, and yes tell your oh you'll rub his nose in it and see how he likes it!
