souvenirs from walks
just got back from my walk in the rain with his lordship and emptying my pockets for items i have had to remove from his chops along the way - if he is left with some of them he wont come back when called as he has a better "prize" than my lovely asda smartprice chicken!
items today as follows:
1 goalkeepers glove (chewed)
1 pair of headphones (broken)
1/2 a tennis ball (not his)
previous treasures include:
1 £5 note (i kept that one)
1 sock (i picked that up with a poop bag)
1 can of red bull (he doesnt need extra energy)
whats the strangest item yours has picked up?

Re: souvenirs from walks
worst from alf has to be the dead rabbit he found a few days ago ! other than that he only brings sticks or his kong home, everything else he destroys on rout, like the disgarded argos catalogue he ripped to shreds last week, he will find the biggest branch he can possibly fit in his mouth run away with it untill im just a small dot and tear lumps out of it untill i get close then run off and do the same ! lol

Re: souvenirs from walks
Mambo is not very interested in picking up and retrieving stuff. All he does is picking up some food that ppl dropped on pavement (chewing gums, icecream etc.).
however...
Yesterday we went for a quick evening walk to little park thing next to train station and as soon as we got there Mambo found a big sponge ball (I mean regular football sized sponge). He just grabbed it and pulled me back home wagging his tail
That was too funny to disallow him to do it (and he relieved himself on the way already). He brought it back to show it off to his mammy
And than he torn it apart and left in a kitchen. I have never seen him doing something so stupid and being so happy about it
I'll upload a video of him chewing it up on YT and post it here if anyone fancies seeing that

Re: souvenirs from walks
With blaze she used to bring home logs/branches bigger than her, she would walk home sideways dragging It by her side.
What used to make me laugh as it would be so big that she would try and go through the front door straight on, this log would be banging on each sides stopping her.
She used to get so frustrated lol, she soon figured out that scuttling through sideways she can get her and her log through lol.

Re: souvenirs from walks
lol Mambo found another ball just now. We past by primary school and there was small ball on a pavement...
all I can say about that ball is that it's not in one piece anymore...

Haha these replies are priceless!
Romeo has several times found footballs/softballs. He then pops them and won't drop them and carries them home all proud.
Once there was a group of teenage boys making trouble and hanging out near the children's playground, and one was carrying a big, stout stick. Romeos eyes lit up and he dashed foward and grabbed it. The 'tough' teenage boy SCREAMED and dropped it. Romeo ran off proudly with his prize, and the boy said 'Yo can izs hav mai stick bak, i needz to protect maiself.'
I went over to Romeo and tried to get the stick off him- he thought we were playing tug of war and started growling manicly. I lifted up the stick- with three stone of staffy still attached -and said 'Here you go.'
The boy backed away mumbling 'nevermind' and he and his buddies left the park, some of them congratulating me on my 'sick dog.'

After a run along the beach one day, I had to take a rotting stingray off Kuta. And when I say rotting, man do I mean it

Re: souvenirs from walks
Ty doesnt really carry sticks but a rolled up crisp packet he has no problem with he will carry them home then rip them to shreads once hes in his bed lol. Storm on the other hand in the bad wind if a tree falls storms taking it home no matter how big it is he takes atleast 1 giant log home after every walk.
Ty tried to pick up a chewy but got frustrated because it was getting stringy and was still stuck to the floor even though he had it in his mouth it was funny to see the confusion on his poor face needless to say he gave up on the chewy lol
