Don't panic! Salt water to clean and it will heal itself, I don't even bother about dressing them now! It looks a lot worse than it is I promise Xx

Do remember to keep it clean though as it can get infected as its split to soft tissue, but clean it, keep it dry and it will heal in no time Xx

What I do is make a saline solution in a jug and put her paw in it and bathe it in that every time she came in from a walk, I preferred not to use cotton wool as it would get trapped in the nail so just bathed, let her have a lick after (they tend to like the salt lol) and then try and stop her from licking it after, and repeat for a few days, it does sort of go a purple ish colour, exactly the same as human nails would, and eventually drops off/wears down, I never even notice this just realise she has a stump for a claw after a few weeks! Lots better janey Smile she's not limping anymore. Although she did catch it this evening and yelped! She let me trim the bits of this morning so I guess it's feeling better! Xxx
