Split front nail
Not too sure where to put this but my dog Tysons front nail is split not down the middle just on the outside of his nail
Don't no how long it's been there just noticed it now
As far as I no it hasn't bleed and doesn't seem to bother him
He just pulls his paw away from me when I try to touch it
But he's walking fine should I just banage it
Only thing is he always try's to pull it off any suggestions if he needs a banage
How to keep it on him?

Re: Split front nail
Mine has done the exact same thing. I'm bathing it in salt water, and seems to be no problem, just keeping an eye on it. She wouldn't let me touch it at first!

Re: Split front nail
Has it split down to the quick? If not, you might be able to snip off the loose bit which would stop it catching on things.
Otherwise, just make sure it's kept clean & it'll sort itself out.

Few months ago, Kenny some how pulled is off, all the vet did was bandage it up for a few days

A little belated but I took Moo to the vets because it was very discoloured but it was absolutley fine and nothing to be worried about, I just have to keep an eye on the dead nail growing down Xx
