itchy nipple (pic)
It seems Vinny's itchy skin is ongoing - when it's too hot, he itches, with the rain and wet grass the last few days, he itches. I do rub him down; he gets coconut oil; regular antihistamines etc etc and we just do our best to manage it. He particularly gets itchy under his front legs and bless him, he's a lazy scratcher ( ) so he has irritated his nipple. It's not seeping or anything and we've been keeping it clean and disinfected. We're just not too happy with how it's looking. Any thoughts?

I agree, we'll have to get it checked. It doesn't bug him and he's a-ok, but still...
I feel so helpless when he gets so itchy or gets bumps on his legs - but we've had such extreme weather this year...but still I think I'll ask the vet if I can up his dose of antihistamines - I don't want him getting any more cortisone shots as he's had reactions to that
Rox has been a little itchy too with the wet grass, but nothing compared to Vin
Thanks hun xx

Re: itchy nipple (pic)
I've always used neosporian with itch relief and had good results. I don't know what it would be called in South Africa though but it is an ointment designed to promote healing and prevent scaring.

It looks to me like he has scratched it and split it in half, would pop along to see the vet just to be sure though

Thanks Lee and Kathy. Lee, I'll Google that and see if I can find an alternative.
